Malawi

In the country of Malawi, EGS helps lead and direct a K-12 school in the capital city of Lilongwe. The school provides educational opportunities for at-risk students who are unable to pursue traditional public education.

In addition, EGS helps support a children’s home for vulnerable children. Our goal at the children’s home is to provide temporary care for those in need, provide support services to the families of the children, and find a loving and stable environment in which the children can grow and thrive.

To promote self-sustainability and to provide support to the school and children’s home, EGS also oversees a local farming operation. The farm provides employment opportunities, food for the children, and produces enough surplus to help off-set some operating costs.

EGS also has an extensive partnership in Dzaleke Refugee Camp in Dowa, Malawi. The camp is home to refugees from multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Our partnership in the camp includes educational support to the largest school in the camp, leadership support and training, and sports and recreational activities for children.
