Myanmar (Burma) has been in civil war since 1949, the longest ongoing civil war that is active. The tribal minorities have been targeted by the government, led by the military junta since 1961. This resulted in many tribal orphans and children at risk, and extremely poor education all across the nation. All Nations Children’s Home was started in 2013 by May May Lwin, who felt a call to help children after graduating from Bible School. She had been a public school teacher and after a time of prayer and fasting, God directed her to start her ministry by caring for five children that desperately needed her help. At that time she lived in a ramshackle bamboo hut that needed repair.  Allan Karr met May May on one of his trips to teach leaders, and he saw the need to help.  That year, Allan and May May started “All Nations” because of the passion to help all children at risk regardless of their tribe.

 

The Children’s Home is a ministry of Ethne Global Services and supported by Ethne Church Network and its partners who have helped. ANCH (All Nations Children’s Home) first rented property and built two simple bamboo homes which gave saftety and schooling to the children, and more children came. In 2017, the current property was purchased and the main home for the children was built. ANCH has given a home to 20 children, 18 of which still live there.  The oldest two finished high school and went to Bible School and Nursing School, given a scholarship by EGS.  We currently have 5 girls and 13 boys from 7 different tribes. May May Lwin is assisted in caring for the children by her parents who also live in the home.  We are currently hoping to start a school in 2020 and building a home for the teacher on the property.

 

Esther Kee Myu Mang. 11/12/1999. Esther is from the Chin State and has 3 brothers and 4 sisters, three of whom (Jonathon, David, and Elizabeth) are with her at All Nation Children's Home. After her father's death from cancer her mother was able to keep the 4 older children, but could not provide for the needs of the younger children. Esther arrived from a rural Buddhist village and is now strong in Christian Faith, and performing well in school.

 

 

Elizabeth Kee Awi 06/20/2003. Elizabeth is from the Chin State and has 3 brothers and 4 sisters, three of whom (Jonathan, Esther, and David) are with her at All Nation Children's Home. After her father's death from cancer her mother was able to keep the 4 older children, but could not provide for the needs of the younger children. Elizabeth arrived from a rural Buddhist village and is now strong in Christian Faith, and performing well in school.

 

 

Jonathan Kee Khwi On 04/08/2001. Jonathon is from the Chin State and has 3 brothers and 4 sisters, three of whom (David, Esther, and Elizabeth) are with him at All Nation Children's Home. After his father's death from cancer his mother was able to keep the 4 older children, but could not provide for the needs of the younger children. Jonathan arrived from a rural Buddhist village and is now strong in Christian Faith, and performing well in school.

 

 

Mary Lynn 04/05/2006. She is Burmese. In May of 2008, typhoon Nargis struck Myanmar, killing an estimated 100,000 people in the small jungle villages. During post disaster rescue attempts, Mary Lynn was found clinging to the upper branches of one of the few trees left standing. She was only 23 months old and had been in the tree for several days. She is the sole survivor of her village, and was temporarily placed in an orphanage where May May was volunteering. Because of overcrowding and a need for a more personal degree of emotional attention, Mary Lynn was brought to All Nation Children's Home in Hmawbi. She is enrolled in school, and doing well. Her parents were identified as the late Mr. Aung Tin, and Mrs Ei Ei Thu.

 

 

Philemon Bawi Om Thang 04/10/2008. Philemon' biological father died when he was only 1 year old and his mother remarried. Her new husband did not want Philemon to live with them, and abused the child both physically and emotionally. Because of this situation, it was doubtful that the stepfather would allow the boy to attend school, and his chances of serious injury were great. Philemon's mother wanted to protect the boy, and made the difficult decision to send him to All Nation Children's Home. He has been at our home for over 2 years, and is enjoying what was previously unobtainable: education, safety, security, and a loving family environment. 

 

 

Cutie Khin Than 03/10/2011. Cutie's parents were unmarried when her mother became pregnant. Her father was not happy with the pregnancy and left to an unknown location. After giving birth, Cutie's mother abandoned her with her invalid grandmother, who lived alone in a heavily jungled area. The grandmother was unable to provide any care for Cutie, which resulted in Cutie being left alone in the jungle. She was found alone in the jungle, by someone in a small village. May May Heard of the girl’s story and sent a relative to retrieve the girl. At the time she was brought to All Nation Children's Home, Cutie had no name, no language other than the sounds that she had invented; she was covered in insects and filth. Her age was unknown, and it is a miracle that she had survived. It is unknown how long Cutie was in the jungle, caring for herself. 

At All Nation Children's Home, She was given the name "Cutie" because of her pure heart and infectious smile. She was given a date of birth so that she could be enrolled in school, but her true age and DOB are unknown. Cutie has now learned to speak the Native Matupi Chin language, and is enrolled in school, where she is studying hard. She is thriving emotionally, physically and spiritually, and loves having her own family after many years alone. Ethne Global Services, and All Nation Children's Home will ensure that she is never without love and care again.

 

 

David Kee Mang 04/15/2005. David is from the Chin State and has 3 brothers and 4 sisters, three of whom (Jonathon, Esther, and Elizabeth) are with him at All Nation Children's Home. After his father's death from cancer his mother was able to keep the 4 older children, but could not provide for the needs of the younger children. David arrived from a rural Buddhist village and is now strong in Christian Faith, and performing well in school.

 

 

Rebekah Khin Hne 10/30/1999. Rebekah's father has a severe mental disorder that has caused instances of physical abuse; requiring all of her mother’s time to care for her husband. Due to this family situation, she is unable to provide the care or healthy environment for Rebekah. Her village is very poor with minimal educational opportunities; there is only a rudimentary primary school. Rebekah is now at All Nation Children's Home and is thriving both educationally, emotionally and spiritually.

 

 

Peter Aung Law 03/03/2006. Peter has 3 brothers and 1 sister. His parents are Christians, and as a young married couple, they moved to a Buddhist area of the Chin State, following a call to bring Jesus to the Buddhists. Peter was born in this Buddhist village. Unfortunately, Christianity has not taken hold, and Peter’s family are still the only Christians in the area. The family is ostracized and often receives threats, but they serve faithfully. Because of their Christianity, Peter was not welcomed to attend the village school. His parents sent him to All Nation Children Home to receive an education and to be safe. Peter is doing very well in school, and making the most of his parents sacrifice.

 

 

Hannah Hlue Bu 12/30/2000; Hannah is a member of the Chin Tribe. When she was 4 years old, her mother passed away. Her father remarried a year later and then, tragically, passed away two years later, leaving her in the care of her stepmother. The stepmother did not like Hannah and often physically abused her. A missionary was traveling through the village and witnessed the woman beating Hannah and chastised her. The stepmother became angry, stating that she did not want the girl anyway, because they were not related. The stepmother immediately gave Hannah to the missionary, stating "If you care about her, you take care of her." He transported her to our All Nation Children's Home. Hannah is very sweet and is working hard to get caught up in school, but is still several grades behind due to her stepmothers neglect.

 

 

Timothy San Ton 05/10/2003. Timothy's mother is the second wife of his father; his father is very old. Timothy is exceptionally bright, but the village only has access to a rudimentary primary education. Timothy is ready to promote to middle school, however it is not financially possible due to travel and the financial costs. The family strongly desires that their son have an opportunity to improve his life through education, and this could not happen in the limited opportunities available in the small village. They requested that Timothy be allowed to live at the All Nation Children's Home, specifically because they are Christian and wish their son to continue in the Christian Faith. Timothy is a talented musician, and plays a battered guitar for the small worship services at the orphanage. He loves Jesus greatly, and is taking full advantage of his opportunity for education. 

 

 

Andrew Min Yarzar 10/04/2008 Andrew’s parents divorced, when he was 2 1/2 years old. Following the divorce, his mother left and has not been seen since. Andrew’s father is an abusive alcoholic, who neglected him. Andrew’s elderly grandfather took custody of the child, and loved him greatly. Tragically, his grandfather was severely injured by a falling tree, and was now unable to care for the boy. The grandfather, wanting his beloved grandson to thrive, sent Andrew to All Nation Children's Home. Andrew is doing extremely well physically, educationally, and spiritually. 

 

 

Thomas Yong Kung 03/31/2003. Thomas' father has been diagnosed with cancer and the condition has degraded to the point where it requires all of his mother's time. The family is extremely poor and Thomas was unable to attend school. Thomas was brought to All Nations because of a lack of ability to provide care and education. He is doing very well in school, has adjusted well, and is strong in his Christian Faith. 

 

 

May May Lwin. May May runs the All Nations Children's Home. She has a teaching degree, and was employed as an elementary school teacher for 7 years. She was called to ministry, and left her teaching career. She attended ICTS Bible School, where she received her Master's degree in Divinity. Following graduation, she felt called to serve God by taking care of orphaned children. In 2012 she met Dr. Allan Karr, founder of Ethne Global Services, who was impressed with her heart and ministry. At the time of the meeting, May May was caring for 5 orphaned children and living in a small, crumbling hut. The neighbors did not want the children in the area, and transients had moved onto the property because she was a single woman. 

Because May May's ministry was in line scripturally and compassionately with the values of our agency, Ethne Global Services formed a partnership with May May. Out of this union, new and safer property was located, and All Nation Children's Home was born in 2014. The land was cleared, houses were constructed, a water pump was installed, and most importantly, 8 more children were given a home and a future. The children are now all enrolled in school and thriving emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
